Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal hygiene, grooming, and bathing.
- Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary needs and preferences.
- Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities.
- Assist with mobility, including lifting or transferring clients as needed.
- Monitor and document changes in clients' physical or emotional conditions.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect client confidentiality.
- Support clients with memory care techniques to enhance cognitive function.
- Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure comprehensive care for residents.
Requirements
- Previous experience in long-term care or as a personal care assistant is preferred.
- Knowledge of dementia care practices and resident rights is highly desirable.
- Ability to lift and assist clients safely, following proper techniques.
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate demeanor are essential.
- Understanding of basic cooking skills to prepare meals for clients.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy is required.
- A valid certification or training in personal care assistance is a plus.
