Role Description
We are seeking an HR Generalist to join our growing team and support HR services for our client base in Brooklyn, NY. This role is based in Brooklyn, New York and is a hybrid position. Candidates must be able to commute to our Brooklyn, New York office on a regular basis. This is a client-facing role focused on core HR administration, payroll support, employee lifecycle processes, and consistent documentation. The ideal candidate brings strong interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and a solid understanding of employment laws and HR best practices, along with the ability to communicate professionally with both clients and their employees.
Key Responsibilities
This role administers full-cycle HR functions, including employee onboarding, payroll processing, benefits administration support, and offboarding. The HR Generalist communicates directly with clients and their employees to support HR services, respond to routine employee inquiries, and ensure accurate and timely handling of HR matters. Responsibilities include maintaining organized employee records, preparing and managing HR documentation, supporting compliance with applicable employment laws, and ensuring all work is handled with a strong sense of ethical confidentiality. The role also works collaboratively with internal team members to deliver a high level of service and consistently meet client needs.
Qualifications
• Prior experience in an HR generalist, payroll, or HR support role (required)
• Experience with payroll processing and payroll systems
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and emotional intelligence
• Knowledge of employment laws, documentation standards, and HR best practices
• High level of discretion and commitment to confidentiality
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple clients and priorities effectively
• Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office or Google Workspace
• HR certification such as SHRM-CP or PHR (preferred)
• Experience working in a client-facing or professional services environment (preferred)
Compensation
Salary range: $78,000 to $82,000 annually, based on experience and skills
