Optimal Blue Analyst

Brief Description

The Optimal Blue Analyst serves as the primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Optimal Blue (OB) platform. This role provides advanced functional support to ensure the platform is utilized effectively across the organization with the goal of efficiently and satisfactorily deploying the solution. Rather than a programming role, this position acts as the bridge between secondary marketing strategy and system execution. The Analyst is the primary gatherer of requirements and system troubleshooting for software implementation and product enhancement.

Requirements

Primary Responsibilities

• System SME & Configuration: Act as the internal expert on Optimal Blue functionality, managing the administrative configuration of products, pricing, and eligibility rules.
• Business Requirement Translation: Gather and translate business needs from secondary marketing and sales teams into functional system settings without the need for custom coding.
• Product & Pricing Accuracy: Analyze, design, and document viable product software solutions to maintain the accuracy of investor rate sheets and margins.
• Workflow Optimization: Identify impact areas of risks, constraints, and gaps for in and out-of-scope workflows to identify where OB features can be better utilized.
• Documentation: Create and maintain functional, configurable, and technical documentation or specifications for internal stakeholders.
• Client & Internal Support: Facilitate functional demonstrations and learning development to instruct staff on software solution execution.
• Troubleshooting: Apply critical thinking tactics for researching, analyzing, and resolving system issues satisfactorily.
• Cross-Department Collaboration: Partner with other internal project roles, including Development and Quality Assurance teams, to manage product innovation and delivery schedules.
  
  

Summary

Qualifications & Skills

• Mortgage Industry Expertise: 3 years of mortgage lending experience in sales or operations is preferred to understand industry-specific initiatives.
• Analyst Experience: 3 years of business or technical analyst experience within the mortgage software industry.
• OB Platform Knowledge: Proven experience with software product design and architecture, specifically regarding how business rules impact loan eligibility.
• Analytical Problem Solving: Must be able to apply critical thinking to troubleshoot and resolve system issues.
• Communication: Must possess effective written and verbal communication skills used to translate requirements and administer clear, defined instruction.
• Agile Exposure: Experience working in Agile or Agile-paired software development methodologies or environments.
• Self-Management: Must be an adaptable team player with strong self-management skills, exercising successful time management and workload prioritization.
• Performance Under Pressure: Must function well under pressure and be capable of meeting time-sensitive deadlines.
