Position Summary
The Inventory Key Holder plays a critical role in supporting the day-to-day inventory operations of our dispensary. This position is responsible for assisting with accurate stock management, ensuring compliance with state regulations and track-and-trace requirements, and supporting the Inventory Manager in maintaining efficient inventory processes. As a Key Holder, this team member will also hold opening and closing responsibilities and serve as a point of contact for inventory-related questions in the absence of the Inventory Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management
- Assist in managing the inventory lifecycle, including receiving, tracking, and auditing product
- Conduct regular inventory counts, audits, and reconciliations to maintain accurate stock levels
- Monitor product expiration dates and rotate stock accordingly to minimize waste
- Support forecasting inventory needs based on sales data and product movement trends
- Maintain organized storage areas and ensure proper environmental conditions for all products
Compliance and Regulatory
- Ensure compliance with state track-and-trace systems, including Metrc, for all inventory transactions
- Verify accurate product labeling and packaging in accordance with state and local regulations
- Document and report any inventory irregularities, discrepancies, or compliance concerns to the Inventory Manager immediately
- Assist with the implementation and maintenance of inventory control procedures to prevent loss and diversion
Operational Support
- Hold keys and perform opening and closing procedures for the dispensary as scheduled
- Coordinate with vendors for product deliveries, returns, and order verification
- Generate and review inventory reports to identify discrepancies and communicate findings to management
- Support the Inventory Manager with monthly and annual inventory counts
- Assist management in optimizing product mix and purchasing decisions based on inventory data
- Train and support team members on proper inventory handling, documentation, and compliance procedures
Qualifications
Required
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- One (1) or more years of inventory experience, preferably in cannabis or retail
- Proficiency in inventory management software and track-and-trace systems (Metrc experience preferred)
- Strong understanding of cannabis regulations and compliance requirements
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic data analysis
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for extended periods
- Ability to obtain and maintain all required state cannabis worker permits and badges
Preferred
- Previous key holder or supervisory experience in a retail or dispensary environment
- Experience with cannabis compliance and seed-to-sale tracking
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the dispensary for extended periods
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 30 pounds regularly
- Manual dexterity to handle products and operate inventory systems
- Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including cold storage areas
Pay: $17.50 per hour
