Blue Ridge Quilt Co. is an independent quilt shop in Asheville, NC, offering quality fabrics, patterns, notions, kits, and longarm quilting services. THE ROLE

We're hiring a part-time retail associate to join our team, starting as soon as the second week of August. This is a hands-on retail role in a specialty shop environment - ideal for someone who loves fabric and enjoys helping fellow quilters find exactly what they need. This role typically works alongside other staff and is not a keyholder position.

Hours will be approximately 15–25 per week, with some flexibility based on scheduling needs. We're a small team, so flexibility and reliability matter.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide friendly, knowledgeable customer service
• Operate the point-of-sale system and a handheld computer at the cutting table
• Cut fabric and assist customers with yardage selections
• Perform light computer work, such as updating inventory
• Restock shelves and maintain a tidy, well-organized shop floor

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Experience in retail or customer service
• Comfortable learning and using basic computer systems and handheld devices
• Knowledge of quilting, sewing, or textile crafts (strong plus)
• Comfortable working in a small business environment
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and a genuine love of fabric
• Commitment to creating a warm, inclusive environment for all customers
