POSITION SUMMARY
A Substitute Guide at Blue Ridge Montessori School is responsible for establishing and maintaining a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment for all students. This individual will work together with Lead Guides and Assistant Guides and in conjunction with the entire faculty and staff.

Essential Functions
- Follow lesson plans provided by the absent Lead Guide to create a cohesive and consistent learning experience for all students.
- Manage the classroom effectively to encourage student participation, minimize distractions, and maintain a positive learning environment.
- Supervise students in and out of the classroom, including in the halls, on the playground, and in the cafeteria.
- Follow classroom and school procedures as directed by the Executive Director and Head of Operations.
- Communicate in a friendly and positive manner towards parents, students, and administrators.
- Keep records on attendance, accidents, and incidents.
- Ensure the utmost student safety at all times.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: High School Diploma/GED Equivalent Required.
Experience: Some childcare experience, preferred.
Certifications & Licenses: CPR Certification, preferred.
