Job Summary
Join our team as a Dog Sitter/Kennel Attendant, where your passion for animals and dedication to exceptional pet care will shine! In this hands-on role, you will provide attentive supervision, daily care, companionship, and cleaning to dogs in a safe and nurturing environment. Being consistently on-time and dependable is a top priority- our dogs and team rely on punctual arrivals to maintain schedules, feeding routines, and safe-play sessions.
Our hours of operation are 7:00AM to 6:00PM Monday-Friday and weekend shifts are 7:00AM - 10:00AM and 2:00PM - 5:00PM.
Responsibilities
- Arrive on time for all scheduled shifts
- Monitor and care for dogs in kennels or designated play areas, ensuring their safety, comfort, and preventing conflicts
- Provide fresh and clean water and food for each dog's individual schedule and needs
- Clean and sanitize kennels, play areas, bowls, and equipment daily (removing waste, fur, spills, and odors)
- Help with light facility tasks such as laundry, restocking, and general tidiness
- Take dogs for walks, potty breaks, and enrichment activities as needed
- Observe dog behavior and health closely; report and signs of illness, stress, injury, or unusual activity to supervisors immediately
- Assist with basic grooming tasks (bathing and brushing) when needed
- Interact positively with dogs to promote socialization and reduce stress
Skills
- Strong emphasis on punctuality and reliability
- Genuine love for dogs and comfort handling various breeds, sizes, and temperaments
- Basic understanding of canine body language and behavior (training provided, but experience is a plus!)
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for moving supplies or assisting with large dogs
- Knowledge of pet sitting best practices to ensure animals are happy, safe, and stress-free
- Reliable transportation and flexible availability (including some weekends and holidays)
