What You'll Do:
The Behavioral Health Medical Director is responsible for managing all BRH clinical operations as they relate to behavioral health and psychiatric prescribers, including MOUD services in behavioral health and in medical clinics (in collaborative partnership with the Associate Medical Officer). Responsibilities include:
- Provides clinical and administrative guidance in psychiatric care for all medical and community-based behavioral health clinics and programs.
- Provides leadership and direction for psychiatric clinical staff. Collaborates with other management staff to improve clinic and service line operations.
- Works closely with CMO and CBHIO to coordinate clinic and service line activities.
- Maintains and renews all required licensure, privileges, and certifications.
- Attends in-service and continuing ed programs as appropriate to maintain a high level of competency in the operation of BRH and to maintain clinical competency.
- Maintains professional affiliations and enhances professional growth and development to keep current in the latest trends in healthcare.
- Works with clinic Practice Managers, BH Director of Practice Operations and BH Clinical Director to support staff development programs for clinical staff.
- Works diligently to promote a cooperative working relationship between Providers, Clinical Support Staff, other BRH employees, and the community.
- Establishes and maintains understanding and cooperation with local organizations to enhance community health. Assists BRH staff in forming collaborative working relationships within the community.
- Participates in the coordination of community agencies and/or resources in providing continuity of care in continuing education programs for BRH staff.
- Promotes BRH and its programs within the community
- A percentage of the Medical Director’s time will be dedicated to direct patient care.
What We're Looking For:
- Medical degree (MD, DO, PA, NP) from accredited university/medical school.
- Board certification in Psychiatry, or other relevant specialties.
- Preferred three years of clinical experience.
- Experience developing and managing Utilization Review and Quality Assurance Programs.
- An in-depth understanding of and experience with ambulatory clinical operations.
- Knowledge of finance, cost control and patient access enhancements.
- Outstanding communication/negotiations/ leadership skills with clinic and service line staff and members of the community.
- Currently licensed to practice medicine in the state of North Carolina.
- Thorough knowledge of principles and practices of modern medicine.
- General knowledge of state and federal laws pertaining to Community Health Centers and community-based behavioral health.
- Current basic life support (BLS) certification.
