Description
The Purpose
Sustain teaching performance at appropriate college levels for all assigned student populations (including qualified high school students) to include course loads, instructional technology, instructional materials, and innovative communication delivery in Cosmetology and Cosmetic Arts related disciplines. Perform record-keeping functions in the areas of attendance, student learning outcomes, student performance assessment, and data collection for accreditation in an accurate and timely manner. Student advisement in the areas of academic planning and learning support. Maintain all Cosmetology licensures, records, and communications with the NC Cosmetic Art Examiners

What You'll be Doing
- Maintain accreditation and credentials to teach in specific subject areas: Cosmetology and/or Manicure and Nail Tech and Cosmetic Arts related fields
- Maintain mastery and currency in the fields of Cosmetology and/or Manicure and Nail Tech and Cosmetic Arts disciplines, participating in ongoing collaboration with other professionals to ensure continuity between course instruction and school practices.
- Market, recruit, and retain students in respective Manicure and Nail Tech program.
- Maintain documentation of student learning outcomes for College and NC Cosmetic Arts program
- Ensure compliance and confidentiality with policies of the College, NC Community College System, and applicable State and Federal agencies.
Additionally
- Participate in a wide variety of extracurricular committee and campus support functions, which may include student club advisement, competitions, scholarships, grants, campus marketing, accreditation, inter-institutional and system cooperative programs.
- Program planning, annual program reporting data and support of Institutional Effectiveness and Program Assessments Plans.
- Support program by assisting with the advisory board.
- Assist in managing the budget and curriculum scheduling for the program.
- May serve as a representative of the College on professional organizational boards as appropriate.
- Availability for occasional night and weekend assignments
- Additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
Associate degree from an accredited two-year institution with a concentration in Cosmetology and/or Manicure and Nail Tech Discipline.
Certification: Must have a current Cosmetologist and/or Manicure and Nail Tech License and Teacher License from the NC Cosmetic Art Examiners
Experience
All persons must provide verifiable and relevant professional experience in a workplace setting or demonstrated instructional/teaching environment.
Skills and the Know-How
Current knowledge of Cosmetology, Manicure and Nail Tech and Cosmetic Arts and related fields. Possess strong personal and professional integrity, good interpersonal skills, effective verbal and written communication skills, and a commitment to safety. Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite or similar products, database systems, College email and website, and other computer applications associated with the position.

The ability to perform all duties associated with the position, including, but not limited to, lifting, prolonged standing, sitting, bending, stooping, and operating or performing work with associated tools and machines.
