The Purpose
The main responsibility of this position is assisting students, faculty, staff and the community by accepting and recording all payments made to the college and answering student account questions either in person, at the payment window, or by phone or email.

What You'll be Doing
- Assist all customers at the payment window with making payments.
- Assist all customers at the payment window and by phone with account questions;
- Receipt funds to the proper account;
- Confirm account balances.
- Prepare bank deposits and take them to the bank as needed.
- Assist with miscellaneous duties as assigned, such as preparing mailings, scanning documents, etc., to assist the Finance Office team;
- Ensure compliance and confidentiality with all policies and procedures of the College, NC Community College System, and applicable State and Federal agencies.
- Maintain the technical competencies necessary to the job function;
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: A high school diploma or GED certificate from an accredited institution. An associate’s degree from an accredited institution with major coursework in accounting, finance, or business administration is preferred.
Experience: One (1) year of experience performing related work preferred. Experience with cash handling is preferred.
Skills and the Know-How: The ideal candidate will possess strong personal and professional integrity, good verbal and written communication skills, and a commitment to safety. Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite or similar products, accounting & database systems, College email and website, and other computer applications associated with the position. Ability to prioritize multiple assignments, adapt to changing priorities and situations, and follow-through on the completion of assignments. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with persons contacted in the course of work. Ability to prepare clear, complete, and concise reports.

Physical Demands:
The ability to perform all duties associated with the position including, but not limited to lifting, prolonged standing, sitting, bending, stooping, and operating or performing work with associated tools and machines.
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
