Job Summary: The front desk clerk will be the first point of contact for many of our patients and caregivers. The front desk clerk is expected to be friendly, and willing to help our patients and their caregivers. This position also has many duties associated with administration and business operations that ensure the entire business runs smoothly.
Responsibilities:
- Meet and greet guests and customers in a friendly manner.
- Provide superior customer service in person, on the phone, and via email.
- Ensure that privacy protocols are followed to ensure the safety of all Protected Health Information (PHI)
• Answer and return phone calls, manage voicemails • Obtain, renew, and manage preauthorization's as needed
- Display knowledge of the company, policies, privacy protocols, and the services we provide.
- Assist patients and families with questions.
- Determine insurance type, eligibility, and benefits monthly for each outpatient client
- Manage Plan of Cares as they are signed and returned from referring doctors’ offices and keep up with when re-evaluations are needed for the next Plan of Care.
- Schedule/reschedule outpatient appointments
- Collect patient deductibles and copays
- Communicate with clients about their patient balance when the Billing Department is unable to reach them via standard processes.
- Communicate with clients frequently to ensure there have been no changes to insurance, residence, communication preferences, etc.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in a medical office setting is strongly preferred.
