Job Summary
The HVAC Multifamily Project Manager II is responsible for the full lifecycle management of HVAC installation projects for multifamily and light commercial construction. This role leads project planning, coordination, and execution efforts, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with company quality and safety standards.
This position operates with a high level of independence and serves as a key liaison between field operations, internal departments, and external partners. The Project Manager II is responsible for project financial performance, including WIP management, forecasting, and cost control, and is expected to proactively identify risks and drive solutions.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Lead and manage HVAC installation projects from pre-construction through final completion
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, and forecasts
- Own and maintain WIP reporting, including accurate cost tracking, percent complete, and revenue recognition coordination with Accounting
- Monitor and manage project financials, including labor, materials, and overall job cost performance
- Coordinate closely with Area Managers, field teams, and internal departments to ensure alignment on timelines, scope, and deliverables
- Oversee material procurement, ensuring accurate forecasting, timely ordering, and delivery coordination
- Monitor project progress, identify risks or delays, and implement corrective actions proactively
- Review project plans, specifications, and submittals to ensure accuracy and constructability
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned projects, maintaining clear communication with internal and external stakeholders
- Support and guide field teams by providing direction, resolving issues, and ensuring adherence to company standards
- Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, safety regulations, and company policies
- Partner with estimating and operations teams to support accurate project setup, budgeting, and project turnover
- Contribute to process improvements, standardization, and system enhancements within HVAC operations
- Perform other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities
- This position will have coordination and oversight of estimating, design and field teams
- Will assist in coordinating field crews in conjunction with Area Managers
- 3–5 years of experience in HVAC project management, preferably in multifamily or light commercial construction
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, installation processes, and construction sequencing
- Experience managing project financials, WIP reporting, and cost tracking
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical documents
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Effective communication and leadership skills across cross-functional teams
- Proficiency in project management and ERP systems (e.g., SAGE CRE)
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as needed
- Ability to work in indoor and outdoor construction environments
- Frequent walking, climbing stairs, and navigating active jobsites
- Ability to work in confined spaces when needed
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally
