We are seeking a resourceful, strategic, and highly collaborative Creative Branding & Marketing Manager to drive brand strategy, creative development, and portfolio continuity for key brands within our toy portfolio. This cross-functional role blends brand management, creative leadership, and hands-on content development with a medium-sized toy manufacturer, marketer, distributor, and seller where passion, thoughtful creativity, and nimble agility fuel growth.
This is an exciting opportunity where the right candidate will be the champion of brand storytelling, ensuring that every product, campaign, piece of content, and retail touchpoint ladders up to a cohesive and engaging consumer experience, and ultimately maximizes sales performance.
Key Responsibilities
Brand Strategy & Positioning
- Develop, refine, and own the brand essence & positioning, creative vision, and long-term growth strategy for assigned toy brands.
- Conduct category and competitor analyses to identify trends, whitespace opportunities, and kid/parent insights.
- Translate brand strategy into compelling narratives and creative direction that guide product, packaging, and marketing.
Creative & Content Leadership
- Contribute to development of brand assets such as logos, packaging design, packaging copy & key selling points, style guides, videos, photography, and digital content.
- Partner with internal creative teams and external agencies (as necessary) to produce best-in-class creative that establishes affinity and motivates purchase intent.
Creative Direction & Content Development
- Lead ideation and development of all brand creative assets — including packaging, photography, video, animation, social content, digital ads, brand sites, and retail materials.
- Collaborate with the copywriting team to lead development, creation, and maintenance of brand style guides, visual identity systems, voice/tone guidelines, copywriting, and storytelling frameworks.
- Direct internal designers as well as external agencies, freelancers, illustrators, photographers, and videographers.
Go-to-Market Planning & Deployment
- Manage the creative execution of brand & product launches, including sizzle videos, Amazon A pages, social rollouts, and retail activations.
- Collaborate with Brand Manager to develop retailer-specific creative assets for Target, Walmart, Amazon, Costco, and specialty accounts.
Product & Packaging Collaboration
- Work closely with Product Development, Design, and Creative teams to ensure toys, packaging, and supporting materials align with brand strategy.
- Oversee creative direction, key messaging, and copywriting for packaging across multiple SKUs — from concept to approvals to final print files.
- Ensure packaging supports brand storytelling and retail impact.
Digital & Social Brand Building
- Develop creative content strategies (as relevant) for digital platforms (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Amazon, brand sites).
- Identify creator, influencer, and partnership opportunities to drive brand relevance and engagement.
- Collaborate with Brand Marketing team to understand performance data and optimize creative for engagement, CTR, conversion, and brand lift.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Serve as the key creative brand marketing partner to Product Development, Design, Creative, Sales, and Operations.
- Support Sell-In meetings with compelling brand stories, pitches, mockups, and campaign materials.
- Collaborate with Sourcing and Production on timelines, sample needs, and product photography planning.
Insights & Performance Reporting
- Track brand health, campaign performance, and content analytics to guide creative and strategic decisions.
- Present brand creative plans and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Maintain a strong understanding of kid culture, entertainment trends, and competitor innovations.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, Advertising, or related field.
- 5 – 8 years in brand marketing, creative marketing, or a hybrid brand/creative role within consumer products, toys, entertainment, or CPG.
- Strong portfolio of experience demonstrating brand storytelling, packaging direction, social & digital content, and campaign development, leveraging understanding of consumer demographics and play patterns.
- Strong understanding of consumer behavior, product lifecycles, and retail environments (Target, Walmart, Amazon, Specialty, Discount, Clubs, etc).
- Experience developing marketing plans, packaging, and consumer-facing creative.
- Experience managing internal creative teams, agencies, or external production partners.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to sell creatively internally and externally, as well as collaborate across teams and influence stakeholders.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple timelines.
- Strong analytical skills with comfort interpreting data and building strategic recommendations.
- Highly organized with strong project management abilities across multiple timelines.
Preferred
- Experience with toy manufacturing, consumer products, kid-focused brands, or licensing.
- Knowledge of digital marketing, social/creator ecosystems, and Amazon content requirements (A , Brand Store, PDP creative).
- Familiarity with video production, motion graphics, or photography direction.
- Familiarity with licensing, co-branded partnerships, and approvals processes.
- Understanding of consumer insights, kid testing, and category performance data.
- Passion for play, creativity, innovation, and building fun and memorable consumer experiences.

Workplace Arrangement
In-person collaboration is a key aspect of Blue Marble's work culture. This role has been designated as four days a week expected at corporate headquarters in Ashland, Oregon, with one day a week remote. This arrangement balances in-person collaboration with remote work flexibility.
