What are the responsibilities and job description for the Host and Reservationist position at Blue Hill?
Family Meal at Blue Hill is seeking a dynamic Host and Reservationist to join our growing team. Founded in 2000, the restaurant has evolved over the last two decades, sourcing ingredients from its namesake Blue Hill Farm, from the Stone Barns Center for Agriculture in Pocantico Hills, NY, and from farms within the Northeast region. Family Meal began in the summer of 2021 and welcomes guests to a menuless dinner experience of shared plates.
The Reservationist reports to the Service Manager is responsible for orchestrating a smooth guest experience during, leading up to and after their dining experience.

● Proficient: previous experience as a Reservationist in an upscale dining establishment and knowledge of the New York dining landscape is preferred. Previous experience with Resy is a plus.
Tasks May Include:
● Managing reservations, including plotting out tables and adjusting to accommodate guest preferences and special requests.
● Handling guest correspondence, responding to general visitor inquiries over the phone, email, and in person.
● Noting and communicating relevant food allergies, dietary restrictions and other important information to the kitchen and service team members.
● Greeting and seating guests.
● Supporting administrative tasks in the Family Meal at Blue Hill office.
● Collaborating closely with our culinary and service teams to ensure seamless guest experience at every touchpoint.
● Ensuring Blue Hill’s standards of service are met and exceeded leading up to, during, and after all
guest interactions.
● Managing coat check when needed.
● Assisting with back waiting duties when needed.
● Performing all other job-related duties as needed and assigned.
The Details:
● Compensation: $20-22 per hour. Access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401K, and Paid Time Off.
● Location & Hours: Full time position in-person at Family Meal at Blue Hill. Shifts involve working
evenings and weekends.
