Duties
- Safely operate your personal vehicle Cargo Van or SUV for delivery routes, ensuring timely pickups and drop-offs.
- Load and unload packages or materials using manual handling techniques, pallet jacks, or forklifts when necessary.
- Follow designated routes accurately using mobile devices or GPS systems to optimize delivery efficiency.
- Adhere strictly to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and traffic laws during all driving activities.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating professionally with clients upon delivery and addressing any concerns promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including signatures, timestamps, and route documentation.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues to ensure safety standards are met.
Requirements
- Proven experience in delivery driving, courier services, or warehouse operations involving manual handling and material movement.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience with cargo van driving preferred.
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles such as box trucks or vans comfortably.
- Experience with warehouse equipment operation including material handling equipment is a plus.
- Strong understanding of safe lifting practices and heavy lifting techniques to prevent injuries.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations related to weight handling in the workplace and transportation safety standards. NOT Necessary.
- Excellent route driving skills with familiarity using mobile devices for navigation and route management.
- Customer service skills with a positive attitude and professional communication abilities.
- Physical ability to lift heavy packages repeatedly and perform manual handling tasks efficiently.
