What are the responsibilities and job description for the Server/Waiter/Waitress position at Blue Gate Hospitality?
Join our team as a server/waiter/waitress at the Blue Gate Restaurant, a themed restaurant in Shipshewana, Indiana. A server/waiter/waitress should be friendly, outgoing, and focused on providing excellent service to each guest! Your job duties include:
- Welcoming guests.
- Guiding them through the menu.
- Offering personalized suggestions.
- Taking and processing accurate orders.
- Delivering food and drinks promptly.
- Doing side work as assigned.
A year-round server/waiter/waitress will work three to five days a week, between 10:00 am and closing, typically around 9:00 pm, including evenings and Saturdays. We have six-hour and ten-hour shifts. A server can earn between $100 and $300 per shift, including hourly wages and daily tips. This is not a seasonal or temporary job!

Server/Waiter/Waitress Requirements:
- Must be willing and available to work on days, nights, weekends (Fridays and Saturdays), and holidays.
- Complete knowledge of the restaurant menu and understanding of the Blue Gate Hospitality properties and offerings.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Warm, welcoming personality.
- Attention to detail.
- Actively practice teamwork.
- Observe a themed dress code.
- Amish-style dress with an apron (Women)
- Black pants and buttoned-down shirt (Men)
- Tattoos must be covered.
- Multi-tasking, listening, and communication skills.
- Perform the physical demands: lift and carry up to 30 pounds, remain on your feet for several hours, work under pressure, and perform tasks that require bending, reaching, and stooping.
