Job Description: Sushi Restaurant Server

Reports To: Restaurant Manager

Position Summary

We are looking for a friendly, energetic, and customer-focused Server to join our sushi restaurant team. The ideal candidate provides exceptional hospitality, has excellent communication skills, and is passionate about delivering a memorable dining experience. Servers are responsible for taking orders, serving food and beverages, educating guests about menu items, and ensuring every customer receives attentive and efficient service. Must be 21 .

Key Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and provide outstanding customer service throughout their dining experience.
• Present menus and answer questions about sushi, sashimi, specialty rolls, beverages, and daily specials.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders using the restaurant's POS system.
• Serve food and drinks promptly while ensuring presentation and quality standards are met.
• Check on guests regularly to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns professionally.
• Process guest payments accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining tables, service stations, and the dining room.
• Refill beverages, clear dishes, and reset tables quickly for new guests.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
• Work collaboratively with sushi chefs, kitchen staff, and fellow team members to provide seamless service.
• Assist with opening, closing, and side work duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous serving or restaurant experience preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of sushi and Japanese cuisine is a plus; training will be provided.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Positive attitude, reliability, and a team-oriented mindset.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
• Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with POS systems.
• Knowledge of food allergies and dietary restrictions.
• Ability to recommend menu items and upsell appetizers, specialty rolls, desserts, and beverages.
• Professional appearance and excellent customer service skills.
