Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal across various areas of the facility
- Handle cleaning chemicals safely following established chemical handling safety procedures
- Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, scrubbers, vacuums, and other custodial tools to maintain floors and surfaces
- Conduct sanitation procedures in restrooms, kitchens, and high-touch areas to ensure compliance with health standards
- Maintain cleanliness of floors through buffing and floor care techniques to preserve their appearance and safety
- Follow safety protocols diligently during all cleaning activities to prevent accidents or injuries
- Support facilities maintenance by reporting repair needs or hazards promptly
- Adhere to industrial cleaning standards when working in large-scale or specialized environments
- Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to cleaning requests or concerns from staff or visitors
Skills
- Proven experience in janitorial or custodial roles with knowledge of commercial cleaning practices
- Skilled in the use of various cleaning equipment including floor buffers and industrial vacuums
- Strong understanding of chemical agent handling safety procedures and sanitation standards
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting and moving supplies or equipment
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness and safety compliance
- Good communication skills for effective teamwork and customer service interactions
- Familiarity with facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or reporting larger issues
- Ability to follow safety protocols rigorously while working independently or as part of a team
