Job Summary
The Treasury Control Specialist is responsible for sorting and batching incoming documents, processing premium checks, refund checks and remittance coupons through the NCR machine, posting payments into CARMS, processing bank draft forms, entering provider return checks into tracking log, scanning non-sufficient fund (NSF) checks and group reconciliation forms into Content Manager for routing to appropriate business units, processing payments obtained by Customer Service in visitor lobby and ensure that receipts received from Blues Café are reconciled and deposited appropriately. These processes must be completed within the established timeliness and accuracy benchmarks.
Job-Specific Requirements
- Work experience in a Business, Accounting, Finance or Customer Service related function.
- Prior banking and/or bank teller experience preferred.
- Must demonstrate a logical thought process to analyze problems and implement solutions.
- Must possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Access to maintain accurate tracking logs.
- Must be able to work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail to ensure work products are of high quality.
- Must have very good interpersonal skills in order to work in a team environment.
- Must have good verbal and written communication skills to ensure effective, positive communication with Management, other BCBSMS employees and external vendors (RP Solutions, Trustmark National Bank, Veteran Affairs, Dept of Finance and Administration, etc.).
- Must have excellent organizational skills to successfully prioritize tasks and perform to ensure individual benchmarks are consistently met.
- Must be able to be flexible with work schedule dependent upon volume.
- Must be customer focused and service oriented to ensure timely and accurate performance and benchmark achievement.
- Must have the ability to work independently and complete assignments in a timely and accurate manner.
- Prefer experience with mainframe, Content Manager and CARMS system preferred.
