Blue Chip Talent, in partnership with an automotive electronics manufacturing organization, is seeking a skilled SMT Quality Engineer. This role is responsible for supporting production quality within SMT manufacturing, driving root cause analysis, and maintaining quality deliverables for PCB assembly operations.
Job Duties
- Support SMT production quality activities within electronics manufacturing and PCB assembly environments
- Develop and maintain FMEAs, Control Plans, and quality documentation for manufacturing processes
- Analyze production quality data to identify trends, defects, and improvement opportunities
- Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving activities for SMT manufacturing issues
- Support quality deliverables tied to PPAP and manufacturing quality processes
- Partner with manufacturing teams to improve electronic component assembly quality
- Evaluate process performance using statistical analysis and quality core tools
- Ensure quality standards are maintained across high-volume SMT production operations
Required
- 4 years of SMT manufacturing quality engineering experience
- Electronics manufacturing and PCB assembly experience
- Knowledge of electronic components, circuit board assembly, and SMT production processes
- Experience with FMEA, Control Plans, Root Cause Analysis, and problem-solving methodologies
- Experience with statistical analysis, data analysis, and manufacturing quality metrics
- Understanding of Quality Core Tools and quality systems supporting PPAP deliverables
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related technical discipline preferred
- Willingness to obtain CQE certification after hire
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- IPC certification or IPC training
- Soldering experience
- CQE certification
- Automotive electronics manufacturing experience
- Experience with high-speed SMT placement lines
- 8 years of SMT or electronics manufacturing quality experience for senior-level consideration
- Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology degree with electronics manufacturing experience
