Blue Chip Talent, in partnership with a transportation manufacturing organization, is seeking a skilled Mechanical Wiring Technician. This role is responsible for the second-shift installation of electrical and trim components on railcars, following engineering drawings and standard operating procedures. Candidates must be mechanically inclined and comfortable working in a structured production environment.
Job Duties
- Install electrical wiring and trim components on railcars per engineering drawings
- Execute operations in accordance with standard operating instructions
- Complete and validate work orders/tasks within the IT system
- Adhere strictly to Health & Safety guidelines and workplace protocols
- Support railcar assembly operations in a production line environment
- Work collaboratively across shifts and functional teams to meet production timelines
Skills & Experience
Required:
- 3–5 years of hands-on production or mechanical assembly experience
- Background in automotive, aerospace, or rail manufacturing
- Ability to interpret and execute mechanical/electrical installation based on engineering drawings
- Experience with mechanical/electrical component installation or removal
- Willingness to relocate to Plattsburgh, NY for the duration of the project
- Availability for 2nd shift hours: 2:30 PM – 10:30 PM, Monday through Friday
- High school diploma or GED
Desired:
- Experience working in railcar or large-structure assembly lines
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing or 5S principles
- Prior experience using manufacturing IT systems for task tracking
- Certifications or vocational training in mechanical/electrical assembly
