Blue Chip Talent, in partnership with an automotive technology organization, is seeking a skilled Senior ECU Validation Engineer. This role is responsible for developing ECU-level validation strategies, executing electrical and functional testing, and leading failure analysis for complex electronic systems. The engineer will partner with hardware, software, and systems teams throughout the full product development lifecycle.
Job Duties
- Serve as the primary validation partner for hardware and software design teams throughout the product lifecycle
- Develop DVP&R plans, test cases, environmental strategies, and validation procedures
- Integrate silicon validation data into ECU-level functional testing
- Design and build automated test scripts, hardware fixtures, HIL systems, and bench-testing environments
- Execute durability, electrical, thermal, and functional validation for component-level ECUs
- Validate SoC and microcontroller performance within ECU environments, including power integrity, thermal limits, and signal behavior
- Lead root-cause investigations using failure reproduction, fault simulation, and data analysis
- Participate in DFMEA, PFMEA, design reviews, and risk assessments
- Establish traceability between technical requirements, test procedures, defects, and validation results
- Maintain standardized validation templates, test methods, and lessons-learned documentation
Skills & Experience
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
- 6 years of experience in automotive electronics, consumer electronics, or embedded hardware development
- Experience with ECU component testing and silicon-level validation
- Experience validating SoCs, microcontrollers, or comparable embedded processing devices
- Proficiency with CAN, CAN-FD, LIN, and FlexRay communication protocols
- Hands-on experience using oscilloscopes, power supplies, digital multimeters, thermal chambers, and bench-testing equipment
- Experience creating DVP&R documentation, test plans, test cases, and validation reports
- Proficiency with requirements and defect-management platforms such as JAMA and JIRA
- Ability to interpret complex electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
Desired
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
- Experience with hardware-in-the-loop and automated bench-testing environments
- Programming experience with LabVIEW, TestStand, or CAPL
- Working knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory requirements
- Experience with DFMEA, PFMEA, Bill of Design, and Bill of Materials processes
- Experience with version-control systems and requirements-to-test traceability
- Experience performing power-integrity, signal-integrity, and thermal-boundary analysis
- Experience developing reusable validation tools, fixtures, and testing frameworks
