THE ROLE
About the Role:
We are looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Part-Time Accounting Clerk to support the team with day-to-day accounting operations. This position is perfect for someone seeking consistent part-time work.

TOP 5 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE AND COLLECTIONS
- Ensure all of our customers pay on time.
- Establish Credit limits based on feedback from credit references and our credit insurer
- ACCOUNTS PAYABLE
- Enter all purchase invoices in our accounting database
- Ensure outstanding amounts are addressed
- INVOICING INCLUDING EDI
- Ensure all shipments are invoiced on a daily basis.
- Invoice through EDI platforms when necessary
- Coordinate with Customer Service and IT on new EDI requests from Customers
- Prepare and distribute Daily Sales and Open Order Reports
- BANKING
- Bank accounts to be reviewed and reconciled daily
- Unusual items to be flagged and discussed with owner
- MONTHLY/QUARTERLY/ANNUALLY
- Balance bank and prepare necessary monthly reports.
- Prepare Commission Statements for all Sales Representatives
- Prepare the Quarterly Sales Tax reports for both the CDN and US operations

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE:
· BY 6 MONTHS… You have acquired knowledge of our accounting processes and are familiar with our suppliers and customers.
· BY 12 MONTHS… You have analyzed our procedures and looked at solutions that can be implemented. You have brought your suggestions to the team.
QUALITIES OF THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
· Proven accounting experience, preferably as an Accounts Receivable or Accounts Payable clerk
· Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures
· Competency in MS Office, databases and accounting software
· Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports
· Accuracy and attention to detail
· Aptitude for numbers
· Ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks
· Data Entry skills
· Well organized
QUALIFICATIONS & WORK EXPERIENCE:
· 5 years in accounting department
· High school degree
· College degree or relevant certification a plus
