Duties
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and observe for any changes in health or behavior, documenting findings accurately
- Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and safety
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption as needed
- Operate patient transfer equipment such as Hoyer lifts and utilize proper manual handling techniques for safe patient movement
- Maintain cleanliness of client living spaces through regular cleaning and sanitation tasks
- Provide transportation assistance for appointments, errands, or community activities while ensuring client safety
Skills
- Prior experience working in Seniors, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly desirable
- Strong patient observation skills with the ability to recognize changes in condition or behavior promptly
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, and hospice care practices
- Familiarity with care plans, medication administration, patient monitoring, and vital signs measurement
- Ability to perform personal support tasks such as assisting with ADLs and providing compassionate caregiving for individuals with disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders
- Proficiency in using patient transfer methods like Hoyer lifts and understanding manual handling safety procedures
- Excellent communication skills for effective client interaction and collaboration with healthcare teams
