The Bloomsburg Area YMCA is seeking an organized, compassionate leader to direct our Community Resource Hub. The Hub helps individuals and families in Columbia and Montour Counties find and access services that support stability, health, and quality of life.
Our focus is connecting individuals, families, and community partners with the services they need.
The Director will combine community resource navigation with department administration, partnership development, and program planning. This position emphasizes referrals, coordination, and appropriate follow-up. Recognizing the limits of the YMCA’s role and maintaining clear service boundaries are essential to making the Hub effective and sustainable.
What you will do
- Lead daily Hub operations and work directly with the CEO to establish priorities and goals.
- Welcome participants, identify their needs, and connect them with appropriate community services.
- Help people navigate resources for housing, food, transportation, employment, healthcare, benefits, and other basic needs.
- Coordinate referrals and follow up to help participants make connections with service providers.
- Build and maintain relationships with Geisinger, social service agencies, schools, nonprofits, churches, and other community partners.
- Maintain current resource information and help partners coordinate services and address gaps.
- Coordinate computer and internet access, digital literacy support, educational activities, and onsite partner services.
- Help participants access YMCA programs, membership, and financial assistance when appropriate.
- Maintain accurate, confidential records using Neighborly and other approved systems.
- Prepare service reports, track outcomes, and provide information for grants and donor updates.
- Work with the CEO and finance staff to manage the Hub’s budget and resources.
- Maintain clear intake, visitor access, referral, and safety procedures.
- Support planning for the Hub’s future growth and space within the YMCA’s capital expansion.
- Orient and supervise staff, volunteers, or interns assigned to the Hub as the department grows.
What we are looking for
- A bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, public health, community health, or a related field—or equivalent relevant experience—preferred.
- At least two years of experience in social services, community resource navigation, or a related field preferred.
- Experience coordinating programs, developing community partnerships, or leading staff and volunteers preferred.
- Community Health Worker training or certification is a plus.
- Strong listening, communication, organization, and documentation skills.
- Compassion and respect for people experiencing hardship, combined with sound judgment and the ability to maintain professional boundaries.
- Ability to balance participant needs with administrative responsibilities and long-term planning.
- Comfort using Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and referral or participant tracking systems.
- Reliable transportation for local outreach and partner meetings.
- Ability to meet YMCA background screening and training requirements.

Pay: $45,600.00 - $55,000.00 per year
