What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front Desk Receptionist/Membership Assistant position at BLOOMINGTON COUNTRY CLUB?
We’re hiring a friendly, organized Front Desk & Membership Coordinator to be the primary face of the club. You’ll manage daily front-desk operations, member communications, basic computer skills, vendor communications, and support servers and back-office tasks to ensure excellent member service.
Key responsibilities
- Open/close front desk and daily systems and troubleshoot or coordinate repairs with vendors.
- Greet, seat and engage members; answer phones; take reservations, takeout orders and member payments (cash/check); print statements and reports on request.
- Maintain member records: navigate customer accounts and track F&B minimums.
- Update menus and membership sections on website and add/edit menu items in POS/system.
- Coordinate front-of-house flow: inform servers of seated tables, track rotation order, and assist bussing/snack bar during peak service.
- Office and administrative tasks: print membership/new-hire packets, restock supplies (mints, office items, kids’ menus, crayons), order supplies, and manage drop-envelope paperwork.
- Communications & vendor coordination when needed
- Marketing support: take and print photos for monthly specials and update relevant menu sections.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front desk and immediate exterior (water plants as needed)
- Stay up to date on on calendar events: events/closures.
Required qualifications & skills
- Excellent customer-service and communication skills; warm, professional phone manner.
- Ability to make connections with members and guests
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to multitask and prioritize.
- Basic computer proficiency/ability to learn
- Ability to handle cash/check transactions securely.
- Team player who can assist servers and step into varied tasks during busy periods.
Preferred
- Previous experience in hospitality, private club, or restaurant front-desk/host role.
- Familiarity with POS/menu management systems and basic website editing.
- Basic troubleshooting skills for AV/phone systems or experience coordinating vendor repairs.
