Speech Language Pathologist Job Description
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide specialized instruction in all areas of speech and language development for students who qualify for services.
- Complete initial evaluations for students suspected of qualifying for services and reevaluations of students as needed.
- Serve as the case manager for some of the students that receive speech services including all required paperwork, goal writing and goal progress monitoring.
- Serve as the LEA (local education agency) at times and facilitate IEP meetings.
- Collaborate with other specialists, general education staff and administration to coordinate support and services to maximize student growth.
- Provide training and support to general education teachers of the students they serve.
- Communicate with parents on student progress and to build a partnership on behalf of the student.
- Actively participate in district initiatives such as MTSS and others.
- Maintain CPI training provided through the district.
- Serve on the school level crisis support team for students as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by administration.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and arms to reach. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk and occasionally required to stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Ten-month salaried employee. Salary to be established by the Board of Education. Criminal background check required for hire, employment contingent on appropriate results.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions per the Joint Committee on the evaluations of teachers.
