Duties
- Greet clients warmly, schedule appointments, and manage the front desk with professionalism and enthusiasm
- Handle pet check-ins and check-outs, ensuring accurate record-keeping in veterinary software systems
- Assist veterinary staff with animal restraint, handling, and basic animal husbandry tasks to support medical procedures
- Support medical collection efforts by preparing samples, recording data, and maintaining laboratory equipment
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kennels, treatment areas, following aseptic techniques
- Assist with animal catheterization, administering medications
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding pet care instructions, treatment plans, and follow-up needs
- Ensure compliance with DEA regulations, USDA guidelines, and veterinary safety protocols during all procedures
- Support veterinary critical care activities by monitoring patient status and assisting during emergency situations
- Manage administrative tasks such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, updating client records, and processing payments
Skills
- Experience with dog handling, animal restraint techniques, and pet care best practices helpful/but not required
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures, drug regulations (DEA), and USDA guidelines relevant to veterinary practice helpful/but not required
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with clients
- Knowledge of veterinary critical care practices and animal catheterization techniques preferred/but not required
- Capable of working efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
- Skilled in animal husbandry practices including feeding, and basic health assessments helpful/but not required
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously while demonstrating professionalism and enthusiasm
