Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish
- Assist with menu planning by suggesting creative ideas and ensuring ingredient availability for daily specials
- Handle food with care, adhering strictly to food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment
- Support food preparation activities, including chopping, marinating, portioning, and plating to streamline service times
- Maintain proper knife skills for efficient and safe cutting, slicing, and dicing of ingredients
- Collaborate with kitchen staff during meal service to ensure timely delivery of orders and smooth operation
- Assist with catering events and special functions by preparing large quantities of food while maintaining quality standards
- Practice excellent food handling techniques, including proper storage, labeling, and rotation of ingredients
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food industry setting is highly preferred, especially in a culinary or kitchen role
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety protocols
- Experience working in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is a plus, demonstrating familiarity with specialized meal requirements
