Duties
- Assist delivery drivers with loading and unloading packages using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and carts
- Support route driving by helping to organize deliveries and ensuring timely completion of daily routes
- Safely load and unload items weighing various amounts, adhering to safe lifting practices and weight handling regulations
- Help maintain accurate delivery documentation using mobile devices or other digital tools
- Collaborate with drivers to ensure adherence to traffic regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, and safety standards during all transportation activities
- Support warehouse operations by moving inventory, organizing stock, and preparing shipments for delivery
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting with delivery questions or concerns at the point of contact
Requirements
- Prior warehouse experience or familiarity with warehouse operations is preferred
- Experience in commercial driving, especially with box trucks or vans, is highly desirable
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience with commercial truck driving or van driving is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely; familiarity with manual handling and safe lifting practices required
- Knowledge of route driving, load & unload procedures, and adherence to traffic laws including DOT regulations
- Comfortable operating manual transmission vehicles and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks or carts
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members and providing quality customer service
- Ability to work physically demanding shifts involving moving items and standing for extended periods
