What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head of Sales position at Block MB?
We're partnering with a high-growth developer-first SaaS company seeking a Head of Sales to lead the next stage of commercial growth.
This is a hands-on player-coach leadership role for someone who has successfully helped scale a company from a PLG and inbound-led motion to a structured outbound sales organization. Initially, you'll own strategic deals directly while building the processes, team, and playbook required to support long-term growth
What you'll do
- Own company-wide new logo revenue and quota attainment
- Personally close mid-market and enterprise opportunities
- Build and scale a repeatable outbound sales motion
- Establish qualification, pricing, forecasting, and compensation frameworks
- Hire, develop, and manage Account Executives
- Move the business further up-market while preserving existing SMB success
- Build scalable sales processes that reduce founder involvement in day-to-day deal execution
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and Operations teams on strategic customer opportunities
Requirements
- 7 years of B2B SaaS sales experience
- Experience selling API or developer-first products
- At least 2 years carrying an individual quota at an API/developer-focused company
- Proven success closing six and seven-figure enterprise deals
- Experience scaling a sales team from fewer than 5 reps to 20
- Demonstrated success transitioning companies from PLG/founder-led growth to outbound sales
- Comfortable selling to CTOs, VPs of Engineering, Heads of Product, and other technical stakeholders
- Experience building sales playbooks covering qualification, pricing, forecasting, and compensation
Compensation
- Base Salary: $200K-$250K
- OTE: $400K-$500K
