Schedule: Full-Time (Saturday – Wednesday, 12:00 AM – 8:35 AM)
Job Summary
Block by Block is seeking a reliable and hardworking Cleaning Ambassador / Trash Truck Driver to support cleanliness and sanitation efforts in Old Town Pasadena. This role combines street-level cleaning duties with operating a trash collection vehicle to maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for residents, businesses, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
Operate a trash collection truck safely and efficiently along designated routes
Collect and dispose of waste, recyclables, and debris from public areas
Perform sidewalk and street cleaning, including sweeping, pressure washing, and litter removal
Empty trash receptacles and replace liners as needed
Maintain cleanliness of alleys, sidewalks, and high-traffic areas
Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs
Follow all safety procedures and local regulations
Provide friendly and professional interactions with the public as a Cleaning Ambassador
Report hazards, graffiti, or maintenance issues to supervisors
Work Environment
Outdoor, physically active role
Exposure to various weather conditions and urban environments
Early morning/overnight hours

Requirements
Valid driver's license with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
Ability to operate or learn to operate a trash collection vehicle
Ability to work overnight shifts and weekends
Strong work ethic and reliability
Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy loads (up to 50 lbs or more)
Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
Good communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in sanitation, waste collection, or street maintenance
Experience driving commercial or large vehicles
