Responsibilities
- Provide immediate support to lead teachers by assisting with lesson implementation, classroom management, and child engagement across different age groups and classrooms.
- Assist in curriculum development and adapt lesson plans to meet the needs of diverse learners, including those requiring special education or early intervention services.
- Support classroom activities focused on literacy education, math, physical education, and social-emotional development.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment by following health and safety protocols, including first aid and CPR procedures.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress, behavior, and daily activities to foster strong home-school connections.
- Support behavior management strategies that promote positive behavior and emotional well-being among children.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and child welfare policies.
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings; preschool or daycare experience preferred.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles, curriculum planning, classroom management, and behavior management techniques.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with children, parents, and team members.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required or willing to obtain upon hire.
- Familiarity with early childhood education standards such as Montessori methods or standardized testing is a plus.
- Ability to adapt quickly to different classrooms and support various teaching styles as needed.
- Demonstrated understanding of special education needs, early intervention strategies, and literacy education techniques.
