Cultivation Support Technician

Position summary

The Cultivation Support Technician is a hands-on, plant-touching position that supports cultivation from propagation through bucking. The CST performs assigned plant-care tasks, trellising, de-leafing, harvest support, bucking, pot washing, room cleaning, and the general physical work required to keep cultivation operations moving safely and efficiently.

Essential responsibilities

· Support propagation, potting, transplanting, plant movement, staging, and other assigned crop-cycle activities.

· Water and feed plants according to approved schedules and instructions and promptly report irregular plant response, runoff, irrigation, or equipment conditions.

· Perform topping, pruning, de-leafing, trellising, training, canopy maintenance, and related plant work to cultivation standards.

· Prepare cultivation rooms for incoming plants and complete room turns, resets, equipment setup, and deep cleaning.

· Assist with harvest activities, including cutting, plant breakdown, weighing, movement of harvested material, and dry-room preparation.

· Buck dried cannabis plants and transfer the product to the Post-Harvest team according to approved procedures and documentation requirements.

· Wash and sanitize pots, trays, irrigation components, cultivation tools, carts, work surfaces, and equipment according to SOPs.

· Perform room and floor cleaning, waste removal, material movement, supply staging, and other general physical cultivation support work.

· Complete cultivation logs, plant counts, movement records, weights, waste records, task records, and other required documentation accurately and on time.

· Assist authorized personnel with plant movements, weights, waste, and inventory records.

· Follow SOPs, PPE requirements, hygiene rules, biosecurity practices, safety procedures, security rules, and applicable NJ CRC requirements.

· Perform other trained plant-touching, cultivation, harvest, and general labor duties assigned by cultivation leadership.

Qualifications

· Must be at least 21 years old and able to satisfy all NJ CRC employee credentialing, background, fingerprinting, and training requirements.

· High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

· Cannabis cultivation, commercial agriculture, horticulture, greenhouse, nursery, landscaping, warehouse, or other physically demanding work experience preferred but not required.

· Strong observation skills, care around plants, and willingness to learn BLISS CO cultivation methods.

· Ability to follow written procedures, task instructions, sanitation standards, safety rules, and recordkeeping requirements.

· Reliable attendance, punctuality, teamwork, and the ability to take direction from supervisors.

· May be required to work weekends and holidays

Physical and work requirements

· Stand and walk for extended periods and regularly bend, kneel, squat, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive plant work.

· Frequently lift, carry, and move plants, supplies, tools, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, with assistance when required.

· Work in warm, humid, brightly lit, and wet environments and around cannabis plants, pollen, growing media, fertilizers, cleaning agents, and strong odors.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
