Ripsaw Operator

Ripsaw Operator/Lumber Sawyer

The ripsaw/lumber sawyer operator position requires a skilled woodworking professional to cut raw lumber into valuable millwork.

Key Responsibilities:

• focus on maximizing yield & quality of rough lumber 

• Setting up saw

• making precise cuts 

• Inspect the lumber for imperfections and decide the best cutting pattern to maximize value using our optimization software and automated movable saw

• Must maintain the machine's maintenance schedule and saw blades and lubricant cation schedule 

Essential skills:

• 2 years experience as a ripsaw operator and/or lumber sawyer preferred

• strong understanding of wood characteristics 

• proficient with computers 

• Good mathematical skills 

• Manual dexterity and ability to perform repetitive motions 

• able to lift 50Lb  

• Ability to communicate and work with mill coworkers
