Fire Protection Inspector/Service Tech

BLH OBX, Inc is a restaurant equipment and fire protection company serving the Outer Banks and surrounding areas.

We are looking for a Fire Protection and Safety Inspector to join our team. The Field Technician (Inspector) is responsible for testing, repairing, and inspecting fixed fire protection systems and their components to ensure proper functionality and properly documenting any deficiencies

• He or she must provide exceptional service to both internal and external customers
• Skilled at installing and performing inspections on kitchen hood fire supression systems.
• Perform Inspection and Testing for fire sprinkler system inclusive of piping, sprinklers, supports, pumps, backflows, fire service mains, valves, alarm devices, and other attached components
• Completes all services following manufacturer's instructions, related codes/standards, and Company policies and procedures
• Schedules inspections with customers as required
• Provides documentation of inspections for records, customer records, authorities with jurisdiction, and any other entity required
• Communicates discrepancies, necessary system repairs, and other important issues to the customer
• Completes continuing education necessary to maintain current certifications and/or licenses as required for the position The ideal candidate will have experience in inspecting all types of fire systems. Certifications required.
• Additional commission opportunities in restaurant equipment sales.
