Blevins, Inc. is currently searching for a Buyer to work in the Corporate Office located in Nashville, TN. The Buyer position plays an integral role in the success of Blevins, Inc. by maintaining appropriate inventory levels to match market conditions and driving rapid product sourcing decisions in the competitive building materials marketplace. The ideal candidate will be an energetic & analytical individual with hands-on experience in construction products, building materials, or crawl space solutions, and the ability to execute fast-paced procurement cycles from research to PO. This position reports directly to the Director of Purchasing.

- Source and procure building materials, construction products, and related supplies with compressed timelines from vendor identification through purchase order execution
- Aggressively research new construction and building supply products, evaluate supplier capabilities, and make rapid purchase recommendations to capitalize on market opportunities
- Must understand concepts of forecasting, demand planning and inventory management for distribution operations in the building materials industry
- Demonstrated negotiation skills that deliver the best value for our customers while managing supplier relationships in the construction supply chain
- Actively manage vendor partnerships, expedite critical orders, and follow up on outstanding issues to maintain supply continuity
- Leverage knowledge of construction industry trends, seasonal demand patterns, and building product specifications to optimize purchasing decisions
- Work cross-functionally to support fast-moving projects and rapidly changing inventory needs
- Minimum 3 years related purchasing/procurement experience in building materials, construction products, crawl space products, or related building supply industries
- Experience with or knowledge of construction materials sourcing, building product specifications, and contractor/builder supply chains highly preferred
- College degree preferred
- Proven ability to compress research-to-purchase cycles and execute rapid product sourcing in fast-paced environments
- Previous negotiating experience with construction suppliers, manufacturers, or building materials vendors
- Strong computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment (ERP/inventory management systems experience a plus)
- Must exhibit a "hands-on style" and a strong work ethic with the capability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced company
- Exceptional analytical, reasoning and problem-solving skills with the ability to make quick, data-driven decisions
