This position is responsible for inventorying, ordering, receiving, verifying, reconciling, and pricing all pharmaceuticals and parenteral solutions used in the hospital. This position has the primary responsibility of maintaining adequate, yet not excessive, stock levels to satisfy patient needs, while assuring the hospital receives its fair return on its drug therapy investment. Contract management and negotiation are utilized to meet these goals.
This position requires full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Blessing Hospital. It is expected that the employee demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values while supporting the strategic plan, goals and direction of the Performance Improvement / Patient Safety Plan at Blessing Hospital.

ILLINOIS REGISTRATION AS A PHARMACY TECHNICIAN. CERTIFICATION BY THE PHARMACY TECHNICIAN CERTIFICATION BOARD IS HIGHLY.

- EDUCATION OR EXPERIENCE AS A BUYER, INVENTORY CONTROL AND CONTRACT MANAGEMENT WITH A MINIMUM OF 3 YEARS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- COMPUTATIONAL SKILLS REQUIRED
- CAPACITY TO OPERATE THE PHARMACY COMPUTER SYSTEMS NECESSARY
