This position requires the supervisor to walk, stand, kneel, crouch, stoop, bend, lift, and carry items for the majority of the scheduled shift.
The supervisor is responsible for a variety of tasks within the department including:
- Responsible for the daily operation of the Cafeteria, Coffee Shops, and Patient Room Service Program.
- Supervises and closes down the Department and insures overnight staff arrives.
- Delegates tasks and manages schedules in the event limited staffing in all areas of the department.
- Schedules staff while remaining flexible enough to work with around a variety of scheduling conflicts.
- Evaluates staff on a regular basis and provide feedback for growth and development.
- Monitors practices within the department and implement changes that impact the perception and quality of the meals served.
- Interviews, hires, and trains new staff members.
- Frequently makes contact with patients within their rooms under a variety of treatments.
- Coaches and leads staff on following the policies and procedures of the department.
- Reconciles money from daily sales.
- Navigates phone calls throughout the shift, and takes appropriate action.
- Must be able to work with a variety of software and technology devices.
- Must have the ability to handle sensitive situations with staff and navigate appropriate action independently.
- Must be able to perform multiple tasks with frequent interruptions.
- Must be able to supervise a diverse staff with varying levels of independence.
- Must be friendly and adaptable to a changing environment on a daily basis.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Requires full range of supervisory and clerical skills (typing, filing, organizing, and bookkeeping)
- Computer related activities
- Knowledgeable about quantity food production, catering, safety and sanitation, therapeutic diets, and customer service.
