Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Night Residential Aide to provide essential support to residents in a caring environment. The ideal candidate will assist individuals with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and safety during night hours. This role is crucial in maintaining a positive living experience for residents, particularly those with developmental disabilities, dementia, or other memory-related conditions.
Responsibilities
- Prepare breakfast for residents
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide personal care and support to residents in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Monitor residents' health by checking vital signs and reporting any changes to the nursing staff.
- Administer medications as prescribed and ensure proper documentation in EMR systems.
- Engage residents in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of resident living areas, including meal preparation and light housekeeping tasks.
- Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts safely when assisting residents with mobility challenges.
- Implement behavior management strategies as needed to support residents with developmental disabilities.
- Collaborate with team members to develop individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each resident.
Skills
- Prepare Meals
- Experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or long-term care settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, and memory care practices is highly beneficial.
- Proficiency in caregiving techniques and familiarity with personal care homes or group homes.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities and provide direct support.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with residents, families, and team members.
- Basic first aid certification is a plus; knowledge of vital signs monitoring is essential.
- Experience with home & community care settings is advantageous.
