Job Summary

Bleecker and Greer of Rockport is a great place to work for cooks who are passionate about working with locally sourced, seasonal ingredients. We are foremost a nose to tail whole animal butcher shop and our commitment to the use of those ingredients informs all the decisions we make. We are equally passionate about practicing environmental sustainability and purchase our raw materials from as many local suppliers as possible. We are looking for someone who shares in that vision to help grow our team.

Our kitchen produces daily sandwiches, salads, soups, and prepared entrees for customers to take home and re-heat. We need help making soups using the wonderful meat broths that are a product of the whole animal butchery process. This is a day shift. Schedule is flexible but one weekend day should be included. Responsibilities include:

• Daily production of our seasonal soups that utilize proteins and fresh produce from local farms while minimizing food waste.
• Packaging and labeling of these products for retail.
• Help with cleaning and dish washing as needed
• Keeping track of ingredients, equipment and packaging from start to finish

QUALIFICATIONS

• Culinary experience, knowledge and skills: 4 years
• Working knowledge of how to prepare various proteins - braise, grill, roast
• Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully
• Basic computer skills and understanding of labeling software
• Weekend availability

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform standing tasks for 35 hours/week
• Ability to perform kitchen tasks that require climbing stairs, bending, reaching, and regularly lifting up to 40 pounds
