The General Manager – Warehouse Operations is fully responsible for the leadership, performance, and strategic direction of the warehouse site. This role oversees all operational disciplines, including warehouse operations, labor management, contract compliance, financial performance, automation, customer engagement, HR alignment, and QEHS (Quality, Environment, Health & Safety).
- As the senior-most leader on site, you ensure operational excellence while driving continuous improvement, optimizing logistics processes, enhancing customer satisfaction, and developing a high-performing leadership team.
Operational & Strategic Leadership
- Oversee all site-wide operational activities, ensuring efficient physical operations aligned with budgeted guidelines and contractual SLAs.
- Ensure effective and smooth warehouse processes, daily production, and flow of goods throughout the facility.
- Transform customer requirements into operational processes and drive alignment between inventory, demand, and workflow.
- Lead business continuity planning, operational risk mitigation, and site-level policy compliance (QEHS, facility, and security).
Financial & Performance Management
- Own full responsibility for site financial results, including budget creation, cost-versus-revenue management, and monthly financial reporting.
- Ensure delivery of operational KPIs, productivity targets, and continuous improvement outcomes.
- Use data-driven insights to optimize labor, equipment, and process efficiency.
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
- Guarantee high-quality customer communication through OBR, MBR, and QBR meetings.
- Strengthen customer partnerships by understanding needs, improving service delivery, and supporting account growth.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams such as HR, Finance, IT, QEHS, and other sites within the network.
People Leadership & Organizational Development
- Provide direct leadership to the site management team, including Operations Managers, Supervisors, and cross-functional leaders.
- Develop a high-performance culture by coaching leadership teams, inspiring daily excellence, and driving accountability.
- Support HR initiatives, ensure proper staffing, and contribute to training, development, and succession planning.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
- Drive continuous improvement methodologies across the site through Lean, automation, and process optimization initiatives.
- Promote innovation and champion strategic change to optimize workflows, reduce costs, and improve service quality.
- Ensure the warehouse leadership team collaborates effectively and shares best practices across shifts and departments.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field.
- Equivalent work experience combined with leadership credentials may be considered.
