This opportunity requires flexibility—you’ll be assigned where most needed, and responsibilities can include toileting, feeding, g-tube feeding, and assisting students with a variety of health care and learning needs. Desired Qualifications:
- Associates Degree or higher, OR 48 college units with a high school diploma, OR passing the CBEST and a high school diploma, OR passing the instructional aide exam and high school diploma.
- Strong candidates may offer additional certifications or experience, such as first aid/CPR, emergency anti-seizure medication training, sign language fluency, Braille or vision-impaired support, or relevant nursing credentials.
- Experience working with students with behavioral, medical, or communication needs is highly valued.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, manage various physical requirements, and adapt to changing assignments.
- Willingness to provide personal care as needed and work collaboratively within diverse school communities.
- Candidates fluent in sign language or with a background in vision support are encouraged to highlight this.
Responsibilities:
- Assist students individually or in small groups, reinforcing instruction and supporting IEP goals.
- Provide mobility and personal care support—may include toileting, feeding, and basic medical procedures.
- Help implement accommodations and behavior plans as directed by classroom teachers and specialists.
- Foster safe, respectful learning environments.
- Attend required trainings and complete ongoing certifications as necessary.
This contract position offers a dynamic environment where your skills truly matter. Schedules range from approximately 22.5 to 32.5 hours per week, depending on assignment (Pre-K through high school).
