Key Qualifications:

• Current South Carolina Special Education teaching certification, or certification pending with documentation
• Experience or interest in working with students with learning disabilities in a self-contained classroom setting
• Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and compliance
• Skilled in adapting curriculum, setting clear expectations, and fostering a positive classroom atmosphere
• Effective communication skills for collaboration with staff, students, and families
• Dedication to supporting each student’s social, emotional, and academic progress

Your Responsibilities:

• Manage a classroom for students with learning disabilities, providing individualized instruction and support in all core subjects
• Develop and adapt lesson plans to suit student IEP goals and learning profiles
• Maintain accurate documentation, progress monitoring, and compliance with state and federal requirements
• Collaborate with general education teachers, school support staff, and families to maximize student achievement
• Implement behavior management strategies and positive reinforcement techniques to ensure an effective learning environment
• Contribute to IEP meetings, team discussions, and professional development as an engaged school community member

This assignment consists of 37.5 hours per week onsite.
