Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1 year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into an engaging contract opportunity as a Sign Language Interpreter, working closely with K-12 students in a rewarding educational environment. This onsite role spans from August 12, 2026, to June 4, 2027, with a consistent schedule of 35 hours per week. The assignment involves one-on-one support with a student at a singular school site, offering a focused and meaningful setting where your expertise will truly shine.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Current and active Sign Language Interpreter certification/license in California
• Minimum EIPA score of 4.0
• Prior experience interpreting in educational settings (K-12) strongly preferred
• Deep understanding of both American Sign Language and English grammar, vocabulary, and idioms
• Ability to adapt communication styles for students of varying ages and needs
• Professionalism, reliability, and a collaborative spirit are essential

Responsibilities:

• Provide accurate and effective sign language interpretation for a designated student throughout the school day
• Facilitate clear communication between the student, teachers, staff, and peers
• Support classroom instruction and activities, ensuring equal access to learning
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all requirements of ethical interpreting
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to tailor communication strategies based on student needs
