Two contract opportunities are now available for skilled Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP-CCC) to provide essential support at elementary and junior/senior high school levels. These positions are instrumental in nurturing growth and communication for students with unique needs.
Role A is based at Wheatland-Chili TJ Connor Elementary and focuses on serving elementary-aged students on the autism spectrum. Role B is located at Wheatland-Chili Jr/Sr High, working with high school students who have intellectual disabilities. Both roles are full-time, Monday through Friday, with start dates as soon as possible and ongoing contracts until internal hires are made.
Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid SLP-CCC certification and eligibility for New York licensure.
- Background in school-based speech therapy, especially with ASD and intellectual disabilities.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with teams and families.
- Experience with IEP development and data-driven therapeutic interventions.
- Commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive environment for learners.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group speech-language therapy services.
- Assess and evaluate students’ needs to develop appropriate intervention plans.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, special educators, and other professionals to support student progress.
- Provide consultation and guidance to families and staff regarding communication development.
- Maintain detailed records and contribute to IEP meetings as required.
