Occupational Therapist School Setting in Mechanicsville, MD

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Maryland OT License required
• Experience in pediatric or school-based occupational therapy preferred
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with teachers, staff, and families
• Ability to travel between assigned school sites as needed
• Proficiency in providing interventions tailored to elementary-aged students

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and assess students with a variety of needs to determine appropriate OT services
• Develop and implement individualized therapy plans in coordination with educators and multidisciplinary teams
• Deliver direct and consultative OT support to students, focused on enhancing participation in school activities and routines
• Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports in accordance with district and state requirements
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute OT recommendations for student success
• Collaborate closely with families and educational staff to promote carryover of strategies throughout the school setting
