Behavioral Specialist in School Setting - Kent, Washington

Must have completed Behavior Specialist / ABA Therapy training and have a minimum 1 years Behavior Therapy experience. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A reputable educational organization in Kent, WA is seeking a dedicated Behavior Specialist with Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification to support a high school self-contained classroom. This full-time contract position, running through June 30, 2026, focuses on providing specialized behavioral interventions to students with severe needs, predominantly non-verbal individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement positive behavior support plans tailored to students with severe behavioral challenges.
• Manage a caseload of up to 15 students in a self-contained high school setting.
• Collaborate closely with educational staff to create a supportive learning environment.
• Utilize crisis prevention and intervention techniques (CPI certification preferred or willingness to obtain).
• Maintain documentation and progress monitoring aligned with program requirements.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Current RBT certification with experience in classroom settings managing extreme behaviors.
• Proven background working with non-verbal ASD students.
• Familiarity with working within Native American communities or cultural sensitivity is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work onsite full-time.
