Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing experienced Adapted Physical Education (APE) Teachers for a full-time, on-site position with a reputable school district near the Naperville, IL area. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated educator passionate about providing specialized instruction to students with disabilities through adaptive physical education programming.
Position Details:
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: June 5, 2026
Schedule: Monday Friday
Hours: Full-Time, 35 hours per week
Setting: Onsite only
Pay Rate: TBD
Caseload: To be determined; includes students with Autism primarily elementary level
Travel: Some travel between school sites will be required
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized physical education programs aligned with student IEP goals and district standards.
Adapt traditional physical education activities to meet diverse physical, cognitive, and social needs.
Collaborate with general PE teachers, special educators, therapists, and paraprofessionals to ensure inclusive and accessible instruction.
Evaluate and monitor students motor skill development, progress, and participation levels.
Provide guidance and training to staff on adaptive PE techniques, safety protocols, and equipment usage.
Maintain accurate records of student progress and program documentation.
Promote positive social interaction, confidence, and teamwork among all students.
Requirements:
Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with APE Endorsement required
Bachelors or Masters degree in Adapted Physical Education, Kinesiology, or related field
Prior school-based experience preferred
Strong communication, collaboration, and time management skills
Ability to travel between assigned schools as needed
