Blaire House of Milford is seeking a compassionate, energetic, and creative Assistant Activity Director to help enrich the daily lives of our residents. In this role, you will assist in planning, organizing, and implementing engaging activities that promote social interaction, physical movement, emotional well-being and overall quality of life. The Assistant Activity Director works closely with the Activity Director to ensure a vibrant and welcoming community environment for all residents.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and leading daily recreational, social and therapeutic activities for the residents
- Support the coordination of group programs such a s games, crafts music, exercise, and special events
- Encourage resident participation while adapting activities to meet various abilities and interest
- Help decorate and prepare activity spaces for seasonal events and celebrations
- Assist with transporting residents to and from activities when needed
- Maintain activity calendars, attendance records, and documentations as required
- Work collaboratively with other departments to enhance resident engagement and overall experience
- Foster meaningful connections with residents and help create a warm, inclusive atmosphere.
- Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with Seniors or in a healthcare or long-term care setting is a plus
- Creative, enthusiastic, and compassionate personality
- Strong Communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays for special events
- Basic organizational and computer skills
